Kai Havertz and Ben White Score Twice as Arsenal Thrash Chelsea
Dominant Gunners Extend Premier League Lead
Kai Havertz scores twice against his former club Arsenal on their way to a 5-0 victory over Chelsea.
Arsenal produced a stunning performance to thrash Chelsea 5-0 at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday, with Kai Havertz and Ben White scoring twice each. The Gunners dominated from start to finish, taking an early lead through Gabriel Martinelli before Havertz doubled their advantage with a stunning strike from outside the box.
Ben White then added two goals in quick succession to put Arsenal in complete control. The first came from a corner, with White rising highest to head home. The second was a fine individual effort, as he drove into the Chelsea box and fired home from a tight angle.
Havertz completed the scoring late on with a cool finish after being played through by Bukayo Saka. The win takes Arsenal three points clear of Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table. It is their biggest win over Chelsea since 1935.
Chelsea's performance was a major disappointment. The Blues were second best throughout and never looked like getting back into the game. It was a chastening defeat for Graham Potter's side, who have now lost three of their last four Premier League matches.
