Boston Celtics top Golden State Warriors in Game 3, grab a 2-1 series lead

Warriors home-court advantage could be in jeopardy for Game 4

BOSTON, MA - June 8, 2023 - The Boston Celtics defeated the Golden State Warriors 116-100 on Wednesday night in Game 3 of the NBA Finals, taking a 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven series. Stephen Curry led the Warriors with 31 points, while Jayson Tatum led the Celtics with 26 points.

The Celtics controlled the game from the start, jumping out to a 12-point lead in the first quarter and never looking back. They led by as many as 22 points in the second half and cruised to a comfortable victory.

The Warriors struggled to find their rhythm on offense, shooting just 40.6% from the field and 30.0% from three-point range. They also turned the ball over 16 times, which led to 21 points for the Celtics.

The Celtics, on the other hand, shot 47.8% from the field and 39.1% from three-point range. They also outrebounded the Warriors 49-36 and had 10 more assists.

The Celtics will now have a chance to take a commanding 3-1 lead in the series when they host the Warriors in Game 4 on Friday night.
